![]() | 2009 Block 8 Sparkling Chardonnay Viognier These two varieties were both hand harvested at different stages of maturity. The Chardonnay, picked in early February, was slightly green with high acid levels, and the Viognier was picked in March at full maturity. Only the very light free run juice was kept and then cold fermented for 10 weeks to showcase the freshness and characters of the varieties including fresh pears and apricots. A great wine for celebrations! |
![]() | 2010 A Thousand Words Chardonnay This Chardonnay was hand-picked from vines on the Lambert Estate Vineyard, basket pressed, then slowly cold fermented for a period of 6 weeks to retain the natural fruit characters of the variety. Ageing on the yeast lees for a further 8 weeks adds complexity and character to the palate. |
![]() | 2009 Nordic Frost Cold Pressed Riesling These Riesling grapes were hand-picked from the Lambert Estate Vineyard, then chilled to 2 degrees centigrade prior to basket pressing to preserve the fresh citrus characters of the variety. This wine shows a beautiful dryness, common to Australian Rieslings. |
![]() | 2007 Three's Company GSM (52% Grenache, 28% Shiraz, 20% Mouvedre) SOLD OUT All three grape varietals were hand-picked from 40+ year old vines on the Lambert Estate Vineyard. Aged in French Oak Hogsheads for 15 months the wine is characteristic of light cherry, plum and strawberry, medium bodied with low acid and tannin finish. Well suited to accompany a range of appetizers and tapas. |
![]() | 2009 Forgive Me Zinfandel This Zinfandel made on a winemaker's whim, without over extraction, aged 12 months in 50% Hungarian Oak and 50% French Oak, has produced an elegant wine with characters of freshly sawn cedar, black cherry and plum. |
![]() | 2009 Thoroughbred Cabernet A Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with beautiful structure and elegant finish, rather than overpowering, the 2008 Barossa Thoroughbred Cabernet Sauvignon has blackcurrant and plum characters, fine tannins and a distinct softness. The wine drinks extremely well now, but will reward patience if cellared over several years. |
![]() | 2008 Silent Partner Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Sauvignon from the Long Gully Vineyard region in the Barossa Valley is low yielding with intense fruit flavours. Aged in fine grained American Oak hogshead for 18 months, this wine is firm and elegant with a rich finish. Best allowed to breathe after opening. Cellar 10 years |
![]() | 2008 Family Tree Shiraz The Family Tree Shiraz is produced by selecting fruit from a single vineyard at optimum ripeness. Matured in new American oak for 15 months then bottled and allowed to rest. Rich in fruit with velvety tannins and a lingering soft finish. Best allowed to breathe after opening. Grown on Jim and Pam Lambert’s estate vineyard, this Shiraz saw all the attention that an individual Family Vineyard could receive. The grapes were fermented for a prolonged period of time before being gently pressed and transferred to new American Oak Hogshead that had previously been air dried for 3 years in Australian conditions to allow the oak tannins to soften. During ageing, the wine was periodically allowed to “breathe” to enhance the flavours of the fruit and integrate the acids. A winemaking technique seldom used. Incredibly rich in flavours now, the wine will continue to improve, and develop a velvety texture with age. |
